Landscape Painting Adventures!

Amongst our many wonderful experiences while studying in Florence, Italy, was the opportunity to do some plein air landscape painting, along the famous Arno River and local scenery!
En Plein Air painting tradition goes back to the early 19th century,
and its aim was to allow the artist to capture the changing light and atmosphere directly from nature!
Our studio practice has kept us busy in the intervening years; however, we have always longed to continue to develop further this fascinating genre.
Living in the Great Southern gives access to an amazing array of plein air painting opportunities: from the Porongurup and Stirling Ranges east to the Southern Forests west and incredible coastlines and everything in between!
With spring soon upon us, we look forward to continuing our explorations we have been doing during the last year.
You will be seeing some of the beautiful paintings created during these adventures at our upcoming Art Trail exhibition in Sept/Oct.
We also had a really fun experience to be part of the inaugural Pemberton Koomal Creek Wines outdoor painting competition, in which we both received awards!
We will soon be taking part in a very exciting outdoor event, so "watch this space"!
